The Swiss technology group Bühler has acquired the innovative puffing technology for food and animal feed applications from Cerex. Cerex, a Swiss manufacturer of machinery for food, feed and industrial applications, originally developed this technology. This strategic acquisition expands Bühler's product offering with improved solutions for the growing demand for healthier and more diverse food products and leverages the company's full potential in favour of its customers. The versatile technology is suitable for a wide range of products – snacks, breakfast cereals, confectionery, baked goods and dairy products.
"The puffing process fundamentally changes the way we approach the production of cereals and snacks and offers a wide range of recipe possibilities, including toppings and fillers for many product categories,” says Christoph Vogel, Head of Business Unit Human Nutrition at Bühler. "By integrating this technology into Bühler's portfolio, we can better meet the evolving needs of our customers while driving innovation in recipe development.”
