Coveris closes the loop

The company presented its recycled and recyclable solutions to promote recycling and the circular economy. The shrink wrap packaging Duralite™ R, for example, is made from high-quality recyclates, including those produced in Coveris' pioneering ReCover recycling plant. The result is a lightweight and fully sustainable material for composite products that eliminates the need for virgin materials and supports compliance with UK and European plastic packaging tax legislation. Another outstanding solution is the fully recyclable range of pallet wrapping films with a recycled content of over 30 %, including high performance stretch, shrink and stretch sleeve films. Made from recycled plastic and using energy from renewable sources, the entire range of pallet wrapping films offers an efficient and sustainable solution for stabilising and protecting products during transport. Visitors were also able to learn first-hand about the latest paper-based innovations from Coveris with headquarter in Spalding (UK), starting with the MonoFlex Fibre family, which offers high shelf impact and recyclability within the existing paper stream. Although this solution consists of a single layer of paper, it offers optimal protection and barrier properties.

Another solution is the BarrierFresh MAP tramezzini packaging, which preserves the freshness of the product for up to 28 days longer by controlling the packaging atmosphere.

Thanks to the Freshlife® liner and barrier technology, Coveris also offers a hermetic seal without air circulation to reduce food waste.

MonoFlex films were developed as a sustainable alternative to non-recyclable or difficult-to-recycle plastics in order to maintain the durability, performance, functionality, and packaging efficiency of the products.
