At the trade fair, the company will be presenting efficient systems for the primary and secondary packaging of confectionery and baked goods. The systems enable the industry to fulfil market requirements and fully automate processes. The processing of sustainable packaging materials will also be demonstrated.
Sweets and snacks in bar form are often supplied to retailers in display cartons. This secondary packaging has to be produced in a variety of formats and with different quantities, as well as filled with mixed varieties. The new Advance S334 multifunctional cartoning system masters the challenge. The linear motor of Sacmi, with headquarters in Imola, northern Italy, allows the process steps of erecting, filling and closing to be carried out independently of each other, which offers maximum efficiency and versatility, especially with frequent product changeovers. This means that various packaging configurations can be realised with the shelf-ready displays. Users can achieve an output of up to 800 products or 150 closed carton boxes per minute. Advance S334 can also be combined with flowpack lines to fully automate primary and secondary packaging lines.
The fully electronic HTB wrapping machine under the Carle & Montanari brand packs up to 250 chocolate bars per minute. This speed, which is unique on the market, can even be achieved with delicate products and goes hand in hand with exceptional packaging quality. Chocolate manufacturers can use the HTB to fabricate products with inner and outer packaging, whereby the inner packaging is sealed in three places and the outer packaging consists of pre-cut cardboard or paper. The machine is also impressive in terms of sustainability, as it is suitable for the latest environmentally friendly packaging materials. Thanks to its space-saving dimensions, the wrapping machine also requires very little floor space in production.
The HY7 multi-style praline wrapping machine under the Carle & Montanari brand is the first wrapping machine with hybrid technology and utilises not only mechanical, but also particularly powerful and energy-efficient servo drives. The system packs up to 700 chocolates per minute and also masters the current challenges in terms of flexible formats.
For example, side or double twist, bunch, envelope and single wrapping are possible. Even very delicate or irregularly shaped products are wrapped efficiently. The individual parts of the folding unit can be flexibly adapted not only to the shape of the chocolates, but also to the film properties. This means that the latest generation of environmentally friendly packaging materials can also be processed, which will be demonstrated at Fachpack using paper film as an example.
