The European packaging manufacturer will be presenting its latest packaging solutions. The latest BarrierFresh MAP box, the tried-and-tested MonoFlex films and block bottom bag variants will be on show. All solutions offer a longer shelf life and improve product presentation on the shelves. At the same time, they provide an answer to the increasing demand for environmentally friendly packaged food.
"The basis for our sustainability strategy is our award-winning 'No Waste' vision. We firmly believe that tackling waste, in all its forms, is the cornerstone of a more sustainable future. In line with our strategy, we have developed environmentally friendly packaging. These fulfil the market's demand for environmentally friendly yet highly effective and protective packaging," explains Katja Killian, BU Flexibles Business Development Director at Coveris.
The highlight at the trade fair was the BarrierFresh MAP Box tramezzini packaging. The packaging ensures that the bread stays fresh for longer and thus helps to reduce food waste. BarrierFresh MAP boxes not only protect the products, but also offer excellent product visibility and an attractive presentation on the shelves. In addition, the packaging can be customised or printed with outstanding graphics.
In addition to the BarrierFresh MAP boxes, visitors can discover the wide range of recyclable PE and PP MonoFlex films and laminates. The innovative MonoFlex packaging is a direct replacement for non-recyclable or difficult to recycle plastics and has been developed to guarantee packaging efficiency and ensure the shelf life and quality of fish and meat products, dairy products, fresh produce, non-refrigerated foods, and baked goods.
The 100% paper-based block bottom bags were also exhibited at the trade fair. The bags are an alternative solution for baked goods, dry foods, confectionery and snacks, as the packaging not only offers high barrier protection but also visual appeal on the shelves.
