Schumacher Packaging Group from Ebersdorf near Coburg/Germany continues its growth course and takes over the majority of the traditional cardboard mill Kaierde in Delligsen/Lower Saxony. The family-owned company is thus increasing its total capacity in the solid board sector by 50 % from 50,000 t/a to a total of 75,000 t/a. The investment is part of the most ambitious investment programme in the company’s 70-year history, amounting to EUR 700 m by 2025.
Hendrik Schumacher, Managing Director of the Schumacher Packaging Group, explains the company’s strategic decision: “The Kaierde cardboard mill complements our solid board activities perfectly. In times of increasing demand and production bottlenecks due to scarce resources, we offer our customers solid prospects for the future through this acquisition and guarantee them security of supply in the future as well.”
