It's about to start again: from film innovations to sustainability, from alternative packaging materials to chemical recycling – the variety of topics at the ZLV Packaging Symposium. On 12 and 13 September 2024, Kempten in the Allgäu region will once again become a hub for experts from the food and packaging industry. Specialists and managers will meet on the campus of Kempten University of Applied Sciences to discuss the latest trends and developments in a pleasant atmosphere. The two-day programme of the symposium, organised by the Zentrum für Lebensmittel- und Verpackungstechnologie e.V. (ZLV), focuses on the transfer of interdisciplinary knowledge and the networking of all relevant sectors along the value chain.

The event will be kicked off by Prof Dr Markus Schmid from the Sustainable Packaging Institute at Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences. With his presentation on the circular bioeconomy and future packaging strategies, he will lay the foundation for subsequent discussions and talks. Schmid emphasises: "The mission of our institute is to provide competent and holistic support to the players in the packaging industry on the way to a more sustainable, cycle-oriented bioeconomy."
