With the newly founded subsidiary Somic Packaging Asia Pacific Company Ltd. in Bangkok, the German packaging machine manufacturer Somic, based in Amerang in Bavaria, expanded its sales network from December 2023. The subsidiary in Thailand is an important building block in the development of Southeast Asian markets.

Over the course of its almost 50-year history, Somic has built up a reputation in the secondary and tertiary packaging sector. Users in the food, non-food, cosmetics and pet food industries are provided with machines that ensure the safety of packaged products with maximum cost-effectiveness.

The wraparound packer of the Somic 434 machine generation will be available for demonstrations in the new showroom in Thailand. The sales and service team will support all customers in Southeast Asia from Bangkok. "We can cite numerous projects from well-known multinationals as references. These global accounts operate internationally and naturally also demand high efficiency in the packaging processes for the production sites in the Asian region," explains Patrick Bonetsmüller, Managing Director of Somic. As in Asia, Somic has been using its own sales and service location, Somic Packaging Inc. in Eagan, Minnesota, USA, to support American customers for around 10 years.
