Baumer presents very flat inductive sensor

With the IF250, Baumer presents an extremely flat inductive sensor with a large sensing distance. Although only 6 mm thin, it can detect objects at a distance of up to 12 mm. This performance is unprecedented in this housing class and creates new fields of application

For limited installation space, Baumer now also offers a variant with a very high switching distance when the installation space depth is the limiting factor. The IF250 complements the portfolio of high-performance inductive sensors in compact design. It ranges from cylindrical subminiature sensors (from diameter 3 mm) up to size M30 with up to 24 mm switching distance.

Another advantage of the flat housing is the increased safety margin: The inductive sensor can be mounted at a greater safety distance from the object and is optimally protected even in critical applications.

The sensor is not only suitable for new machines, but also for retrofitting where no sensor was originally planned.Metal sleeves instead of fragile plastic holes and a mounting kit for easy fixing to pipes ensure secure and robust mounting. The sensor is available as a proximity switch with an industry-standard PNP or NPN output or as a measuring variant that has a digital IO-Link interface.

The digital transmission offers the advantage that a shielded cable and a high-resolution A/D converter card can be dispensed with for precise distance measurement.Simple parameterisation options are also available via IO-Link, as well as comprehensive diagnostic data.
