Mettler-Toledo offers smart inspection solutions

At interpack 2023, Mettler-Toledo presented new product inspection solutions for the food industry. The focus was on smart systems with which companies can specifically increase their productivity and additionally improve product quality and safety.

The X2 series (image), a new X-ray inspection platform, was presented for the first time worldwide. With its advanced features, this series is designed to improve productivity with a variety of standard and customized configurations. The new systems offer high-sensitivity detection for companies looking to detect various contaminants such as metal, glass, stone, bone, as well as plastic and rubber compounds in packaged end-of-line products. The X2 series addresses the inspection of small and medium-sized packages and is specifically suited for brand owners who need a cost-effective solution to detect foreign objects in addition to verifying the completeness and integrity of packages as well as products.

As another novelty, the company also showed the compact X34C X-ray inspection system. It enables foreign object detection at high production speeds in small packaged snacks and confectionery as well as products packaged in blister packs and sachets. The system thus opens up cost-efficient inspection immediately after flow-wrapping or sealing of individual products. Thanks to its compact design with a length of just 700 mm, it is particularly suitable for use in production lines with limited floor space. X34C supports line speeds of up to 120 m/min. This means that X-ray inspection can be adapted to the high speeds of many form, fill and seal machines.
