Experts from the European packaging industry shared ideas and insights at FachPack trade fair in Nuremberg/Germany. As one of the leading companies in renewable packaging materials, Sappi presented sustainable, innovative solutions for flexible packaging papers, barrier papers, label papers, corrugated board papers and virgin fibre board.
The company presented its extensive range of wet-glue label papers at the trade show – including new grammages of Parade Label Pro. Sappi had added this new quality to its product portfolio of non-wet-strength wet-glue label papers in mid-2021. The paper is ideally suited for numerous labelling and flexible packaging applications, such as labels for food containers as well as wrappers for various products. The glossy Parade Label Pro label paper features a very smooth surface and a high degree of whiteness, as well as optimized run properties for efficient production and an exceptional look.
Sappi is continuously expanding its portfolio of barrier and high-barrier papers. At the trade show, the company showcased several current examples of food applications using these barrier papers.
Sappi also presented its popular Algro Design portfolio in addition to its Topliner boards with brilliant colour reproduction, which have proven themselves at POS, as well as its new Fusion Nature Plus paper combined with the tried-and-tested Fusion Topliner. The company’s bright white Algro Design Nature pulp board in particular was given a special finishing touch in the context of the “Metal Ink” collaboration: For the project, Sappi, manufacturer of metallic and pearlescent pigments Eckart and renowned finishing specialist GT/Trendhouse 42 joined forces to create a sustainable, printed premium metallic-effect alternative to existing finishing processes that require films.
