The Choco Tec international chocolate congress, which has established itself over several decades as a fixed meeting place for the chocolate industry, is restarting in 2022 with an exciting programme. In 2020, due to the pandemic, the congress was held as a web seminar series. This year, the ZDS – Zentralfachschule der Deutschen Süßwarenwirtschaft (Central College of the German Confectionery Industry) is again relying on a face-to-face event at the Congress Center Nord of Koelnmesse in Cologne/Germany.
The topics of the congress range from markets and trends to process engineering and special raw materials, and from food safety and quality management to analytics and state-of-the-art technologies. A special spotlight will be on the topic of sustainability, which will be a common thread running through the entire series of lectures. Prof. Markus Schmidt from the University of Albstadt-Sigmaringen/Germany, for example, will talk about “Closed-loop bioeconomy and food packaging concepts” or Manuel Höhener from Bühler AG will discuss the topic of “CO2 footprint from bean to praline and its reduction possibilities”.
In addition to the technical presentations, the exhibition in the foyer of the Congress Center will play a central role. The foyer and product sample exhibition invites visitors to get to know new products and processes and offers the opportunity to exchange ideas with other participants and high-ranking speakers from industry and research during the breaks.
The allocation of foyer exhibition booths starts now. Companies wishing to use the event for their presentation should contact the ZDS seminar team promptly to secure an exhibition space.
