In Nuremberg, Syntegon presented its sustainable packaging technologies. At the booth, an integrated system consisting of a SVE 3220 DZ vertical form, fill and seal machine and an Elematic 2001 WAH case packer produced stand-up pouches from recyclable paper and packed them in shipping cartons. In addition to the use of mono materials for all common bag formats, the SVE 3220 DZ enables the processing of paper in order to pack products in pillow, block-bottom or doy bags with a stand-up height of up to 311 mm. This makes it suitable for packaging confectionery and bakery products, biscuits and powdered products.
The integrated case packer is also characterized by the use of materials based on renewable raw materials: it processes solid and corrugated board of different qualities – even particularly sustainable grass-fibre corrugated board. “The Elematic 2001 WAH processes even curved blanks and thus significantly reduces waste,” explained Bernd Bruckert, Sales Manager for the Elematic portfolio. “Up to 100 different packaging designs are possible. From simple trays to shelf-ready trays with inverts – the case packer offers maximum flexibility”.
The Kliklok ACE case erector also ensures better recyclability of secondary packaging: it can erect cartons either with glue or – thanks to the lockstyle process – completely glue-free, and thus in a more environmentally friendly way. In addition, the Kliklok ACE is available with new, special ultrasonic technology. The Lockstyle process also enables glue-free forming of paper trays with compartments. This enables manufacturers to replace conventional plastic trays for biscuits or bars with environmentally friendly paper trays.
