Südpack and SN Maschinenbau collaborated to present a versatile, PE-based solution for packaging different products in pouches. The fully recyclable packaging concept was on show on the FME 50 form-fill-seal machine at the SN Maschinenbau booth.
PE-based material structures are particularly interesting for packaging in bags with zipper closures, since corresponding PE-based zipper systems are available for this purpose, which can be easily and process-safely inserted into a flat or stand-up pouch. Südpack has therefore expanded its Pure Line product family: in addition to the recyclable PP-based mono-materials, the range now also includes solutions made of PE. The film structure offers the properties required in particular for the efficient and safe packaging of food products in stand-up pouches. Typical applications include nuts and snacks.
The PurePE film can also be printed using the SPQ (Sustainable Print Quality) technology newly developed by Südpack. This is said to set standards in flexographic printing with its low CO2 footprint and was recently awarded the German Packaging Award.
Südpack’s sustainable film concept was presented on the energy-efficient and user-friendly FME 50 horizontal pouch packaging machine. The latest innovation from SN Maschinenbau is a flexible and compact, intermittently operating rotary packaging machine for producing 3- and 4-rim sealed pouches as well as stand-up pouches and bottom-folding pouches. The pouches are filled and sealed with products of different consistencies via compatible dosing devices. Conventional films as well as many modern, recyclable materials such as Südpack’s PurePE film can be processed.
