The slip resistance of a floor is influenced by its properties. Especially on wet or contaminated floors, there is a high risk of people slipping. This is counteracted by an adjusted slip resistance, which gives the floor surface a defined structure. This safety-related property is legally defined in so-called evaluation groups for slip resistance (R) and displacement space (V).
With floor coatings from Silikal, the corresponding specifications can be implemented for all important working and recreation areas. The current test certificates of the IFA (Institute for Occupational Safety of the DGUV – German Social Accident Insurance) once again prove the suitability of Silikal reaction resin floor coatings for these safety requirements. In these floor coatings, the desired values of slip resistance level and displacement space can be precisely set.
The Silikal data sheets and installation instructions contain the safety-related specifications of the R and V groups to be achieved for the respective floor system. The specialist installation companies thus have practical and detailed instructions at their fingertips. They inform, for example, of which type and quantity of Silikal filler or Silikal colour chips should be used.
Silikal reaction resin floors based on methyl methacrylate (MMA) are very suitable for the food industry – even for special requirements – and score points with their characteristics. Not only do they have slip resistance levels, if desired, but they are also quick to install, easy to clean and hygienically clean. In addition, they find favour because of their appearance.
