There is also an increasing demand for mixed cartons with several product types. Advance S334 flexibly produces display packaging for sweets and snacks in bar form. The linear motor allows the process steps of erecting, filling and sealing to be carried out independently of each other, which is particularly useful for frequent product changeovers. Users can achieve an output of up to 800 products or 150 closed carton boxes per minute.

Processing of alternative vegan raw materials with WDS confectionery machines

The company offers chocolate recipes without animal ingredients

The company offers chocolate recipes without animal ingredients Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen (WDS) provides support from the initial product idea through to implementation in production. Extensive trials are carried out to determine the necessary parameters. Those that are important for determining the quality of the products later on include, for example, the diameter of the pistons, the design of the nozzle plate and the necessary vibration and cooling times. During implementation on a large-scale plant, the product is configured with the help of confectionery technologists. WDS chocolate plants enable almost limitless combinations of shapes, fillings and colours. Our flexible and customised plant technology makes it possible to produce nearly any product, from simple tablets to complex pralines, products made with the One-Shot or Triple-Shot method, and products with or without fillings and ingredients. This allows you to respond swiftly to the demanding market at any time and offer the products demanded by retailers and end consumers. When manufacturing vegan chocolates, measures must be taken to avoid cross-contamination. Here, the strict separation of production lines and special cleaning procedures and checks are essential. Vegan chocolate has clearly developed from a niche product to an important segment in the chocolate industry. The increasing demand for sustainably produced food is driving innovation in production and plant technology. Despite the challenges involved, vegan chocolates offer growing potential for manufacturers and a sensible alternative for consumers who are unwilling to compromise on flavour.

Südpack floatable top webs combine with mono-APET trays for a recyclable overall concept

Ahead of the Fachpack 2024, film manufacturer Südpack unveiled its latest innovation: PET floatable lidding films.

Ahead of the Fachpack 2024, film manufacturer Südpack unveiled its latest innovation: PET floatable lidding films. Used on mono-APET trays, the low-density, sealable top webs can be separated during recycling from the APET bottom webs, producing cleanly recycled materials for infeed into the differ-ent material flows. This offers a sustainable market alternative for safe packaging of sliced meat, ham and cheese in peelable, thermoformed and MAP packagings. The PET floatable lidding films provide equal performance and processing reliability to conventional lidding films. The product family includes a peelable version as well as a top web featuring Multipeel for excellent opening and reclosing. Consumers appreciate the extra convenience of secure closing and perfect protection for a longer shelf life of the packaged food. Multipeel® PET floatable helps cut the carbon footprint of products in two ways: recyclable packaging and longer food freshness. Peel PET floatable is a premium product in terms of packaging safety and per-formance. The extra-thin lidding film (45 µm) securely seals against PET trays, even when contaminated with fats. It peels easily off the tray and does not tear or roll up. The high oxygen barrier also ensures optimal product protection. Good antifog properties keep the lidding film clear. This ensures an attractive presentation at the POS because consumers consider it a hallmark of quality of both product and packaging. Another advantage is that Peel PET floatable does not require expensive ad-justments to production machines. The high-performance films can be optimal-ly processed just like conventional lidding films on thermoforming packaging machines and tray sealers. Excellent sealing properties and a large processing window guarantee high versatility as well as maximum packaging and process reliability.
