On 01 January 2016, Bizerba bought back the company shares from the Zurich Deutscher Herold Lebensversicherung AG. After around 20 years, the company is now once again under the full ownership of the founding family Kraut. In October 2013, Bizerba had already bought back the shares from the equity investment company BWK. "The buyback of all external group shares could not have happened at a better time, as it coincides with our 150th anniversary which we are celebrating in 2016", says managing partner Andreas Wilhelm Kraut at the helm of the fifth generation family-run company since 2011. "In the face of the positive business development in recent years, we now have the strength to relinquish external financial support." As early as the 1920s, Bizerba advanced to become the largest German manufacturer of scales. Since then, the portfolio has constantly expanded and today the range includes retail scales, slicing machines, industrial solutions, labels and services. Bizerba employs around 3,400 staff worldwide and in 2014 achieved a turnover of 503.8 million euros.
